Saturday, August 31:

7 - 8 p.m.: Animals of the Forest - Live

10:30 a.m.: Kid’s Activity: Wildlife BINGO

Learn about area wildlife while trying to get a Bingo to win a cool prize.

2 p.m.: Habitat Hike

A walk along a 1/2-mile trail to explore different habitats and learn about the importance of these natural homes.

Sunday, September 1:

10:30 - 11:30 a.m.: Camping at Katio ...1,500 B.C.

Step back in time and look at artifacts and take a short walk to locations where archaeologists found evidence of a village from the 1600s and a “campsite” dating to over 3,000 years ago.

2 p.m.: Kid’s Activity: Interesting Insects

Learn about the amazing world of these fascinating little creatures ... and take home a “souvenir” you make yourself.

All activities meet at the Interpretive Center.

2 - 3 p.m.: Kid’s Activity: Pop Can Casting

Learn about fish that people like to catch in the Mille Lacs area, and take home a fishing rig that you make from a pop can. The information and activity are designed for kids 7 and older. However, younger kids are welcome with help from an adult. Meet at the Swimming Beach Picnic Shelter.
