10:30 - 11:15 a.m.: The Monarch: A Butterfly Beyond Borders

A nature film about the Monarch’s natural history and migration.

Thursday, July 18:

10:30 - 11 a.m.: Wolf Wonders

A talk about the natural history of wolves and a film.

Friday, July 19:

10 a.m. - 12 p.m.: Fishing Fridays

Let’s go fishing! Learn all about fishing – identifying species, casting and more. Poles, bait and instructors provided. Minnesota residents do not need a fishing license for this activity.

Saturday, July 20:

10:30 - 10:30 a.m.: Camping at Kathio… 1,500 B.C.

Step back in time as we look at artifacts and take a short walk to locations where archaeologists found evidence of a village from the 1600s and a “campsite” dating to over 3,000 years ago.

2 - 2:45 p.m.: Kids’ Activity: Wildlife BINGO

Learn about area wildlife whi­­­le trying to get a bingo to win a cool prize.

8:30 - 10 p.m.: Special Program: University in the Park

Astronomers for the U of M will share their telescopes and their knowledge of the night sky. After an indoor talk about astronomy you will go outside and look through telescopes. In case of rain or extreme cloudiness the talk part of the program will still be held inside.

Sunday, July 21:

10:30 - 11 a.m.: Wolf Wonders

A talk about the natural history of wolves followed by a film.

All activities meet at the Interpretive Center.

Friday, July 19:

8:30 - 10 p.m.: Special Program-Universe in the Park

Astronomers from the U of M will share their telescopes and knowledge of the night sky in this special program. After an indoor astronomy talk we will go outside and look through telescopes. Meet at the Lakeview Enclosed Picnic Shelter. In case of rain or excessive clouds, the astronomy talk part of the program will still be held inside the enclosed picnic shelter building.
