For the first time in the past several years, the Mille Lacs Raiders were able to enter a team of at least four boy golfers in a Great River Conference meet when they met at Bulrush Golf Course near Rush City on April 27. According to Raiders head coach Travis Turgeon, “The conditions were not good since the course was already really wet with standing water in a lot of places, but it got worse when the rain started about 15 minutes after the meet started. To make matters worse, this was the first time that all of our golfers had hit any of their longer-distance clubs, due to the fact that we had only been able to practice twice out doors because of the poor weather this spring.” Scores by the Raiders included: Tyler Bottema with a 117, Jeff Stein shot a 133, Nate Olson posted a 150 and Jacob Schoeck a 154.
