Good shot

Eric Thompson of Isle was tied for second best on his team last week, making good on 42 of 50 tries at the Huskies’ clays-shooting meet.

The Onamia and Isle High clay shooting teams completed their fourth of five scheduled meets on Wednesday, May 15.

The Isle Huskies kept their second-place status in their seven-team Class AA conference with a three-week team total of 3,200.5, 1,485.5 behind league-leading Apple Valley.

The five top shooters last week for Isle were Eric McQuoid with 44-50, followed by 42-50s from Jacob Dangers, Eric Thompson and Zach Horsch and a 40-50 from Levi Skogen.

Onamia kept their fourth-place status in their Class A conference, just 41.5 points behind third-place Warren-Alverado-Oslo.

Top shooters for the Panthers in week four were Bryce Brandt and Jakob Golombowski with 39-50s, a 38-50 from Alex Forsberg-Manthe, a 37-50 by Chris Conzet and a 36-50 by Jakob Wind.

The two local teams close out their regular season on Wednesday, May 22 before some of the better individual shooters prepare to compete in post-season tourneys.
