The Isle Huskies volleyball team found themselves down to the Ogilvie Lions two games to nil on Sept. 5, before mounting one of the most exciting comebacks in recent Isle sports memory to win, 3-2.
“You’ve got to give it to our girls who just never gave up,” said Isle coach Nancy Miller. “And a key to our win was our serving. We made good on 89 of our 95 serves.”
Down 2-0, the Huskies went into extra serves to win game three, 27-25.
From then on, Ogilvie seemed spent in a very hot gym, losing 25-18, and were the victims of 13 Isle aces (seven by Megan VanBuskirk and five by Emily Miller) in a 15-3 rout in the final set.
“We got clutch serving from Izzy Krawiecki in the tough third set that we won 27-25,” Miller said. “We also got more aggressive on hitting than any time this season and decided to let Ogilvie make mistakes which I think led to our winning the match.”
