IHS Volleyball - Tommi Spengler

On-court leader

Isle junior Tommi Spengler has been one of the Huskies leaders in kills at the net through the first five matches of the season.

The Isle Huskies volleyball team’s overall record slipped to 1-4 following losses to Floodwood, Hinckley/Finlayson and Braham last week.

Floodwood

The visiting Floodwood Polar Bears put on a volleyball clinic at the expense of the Isle Huskies on Sept. 9, showcasing their superior serving, set-receiving, setting and power kills on the way to a 3-0 romp.

The Polar Bears out-killed the Huskies 39-9 and recorded 12 aces compared to three by the Huskies. Floodwood senior hitter CJ Thompson power slammed 19 kills, twice the number of the entire Isle squad, to lead every player on the court on offense.

Hinckley/Finlayson

The Huskies averaged just under three kills per set, and that translated into very little scoring. Tommi Spengler and Isabelle Krawiecki accounted for seven of the Huskies’ total of eight kills.
