Solid play at second

Isle senior Konner Krawiecki has been steady in the field this season at second base.

The Isle Huskies baseball team’s overall record fell to 6-11 following three losses last week.

The Huskies were scheduled to close out their regular season with a non-conference game on Monday, May 27 before beginning section play on Thursday, May 23.

Braham

The Braham Bombers baseball team hosted the Isle Huskies in the penultimate conference game of the season.

The Bombers out-hit their guests 14-4 and scored runs in the first five innings on the way to an 18-4 rout in a game called after six innings because of the 10-run rule.

Braham pitching also struck out 12 batters in the six-inning contest.

Braham 5 1 2 3 7 -- -- 18

Rush City

The Isle Huskies baseball team closed out their 2019 regular season schedule with an 14-11 loss to the Rush City Tigers.

The game featured a dramatic turn-around on the part of Isle, who, down 10-1 heading into the bottom of the fifth, put together an astounding 10-run inning to take an 11-10 lead.

Rush City, however, regained the lead in the top of the sixth, scoring four runs that held up until the end.

Seven of the nine Isle players had at least one hit, with Daniel Miller and Darin Brandt each cracking out two.

Because of the pitch count, Isle had to insert relievers with little experience and that led to the late-game troubles.

Isle 0 1 0 0 10 0 0 11

St. John’s Prep

The St. John’s Prep Johnnies hosted the Isle Huskies in a non-conference baseball game on May 17.

Willy Stalker took the loss on the mound for Isle, giving up 10 hits, six earned runs and four walks while striking out six.
