The home team Ogilvie Lions built a 30-0 lead during the first quarter and were ahead 48-6 after three periods, leading to a convincing 48-12 win over the visiting Isle Huskies on Sept. 27.
A 41-yard drive on six plays, followed by a 32-yard scoring drive after an Isle fumble, put the Lions up quickly, 16-0.
The other two first-quarter scoring drives included a 75-yard touchdown run followed by a 55-yard touchdown pass.
Isle’s offense moved to the Ogilvie 12-yard line in the second quarter but came up short of scoring.
Ogilvie scored on a 65-yard return of the opening kick in the second half and added their final touchdown on a 35-yard pass in the same quarter.
Isle scored their first touchdown in the third period with a 12-yard pass to Willy Stalker.
Passes to Joe Carlson, Ethan Benson and Daniel Miller set up a short touchdown run by quarterback Teagen Haggberg to complete Isle’s scoring in the final quarter.
Isle finished the game with 278 yards of offense, including 176 on the ground and 102 through the air. Haggberg led in rushing yards with 114 on 13 carries, and Stalker caught five passes for 54 yards.
Ogilvie had a total of 364 yards, including 197 on the ground and 167 through the air.
Isle’s overall record slipped to 2-3 with a home game against McGregor scheduled for Oct. 4.
