Onamia freshman Cayden Eagle took the mound this season as the Panthers’ third starter.

The Onamia Panthers baseball team lost to the Great River Conference rival East Central Eagles last week. The loss was worth two points in the GRC standings. 

The Panthers were scheduled to close out their season on Monday, May 21, against non-conference Floodwood, before heading into post-season beginning on Thursday, May 23.

East Central

The Onamia Panthers baseball team hosted the conference foe East Central Eagles on May 14 and lost 16-5 in a game called after five innings because of the 10-run rule.

Onamia pitching gave up nine hits, walked three, struck out two and the Panthers committed seven errors in the rout.

Onamia’s offense had six hits and drew seven walks.

A highlight for the Panthers was the first varsity base hit by Eric Dickson.
