Raiders Golf - Teagen Haggberg

Leading the guys

Isle golfer Teagen Haggberg has led the Huskies in scoring during the first two rounds this spring.

The Mille Lacs Raiders girls and boys golf teams competed in their second Great River Conference meet of the season when they visited Purple Hawk Golf Course in Cambridge on April 23.

As will happen every week this season, Xanna Pedersen of Isle will be the lone female representing the Raiders. She turned in a respectable 18-hole score of 103 on the tough Purple Hawk course to finish in a 5-way tie for fifth place among the 24 girl golfers at the meet.

The Raiders boys team was looking forward to fielding their first full squad when they sent Teagen Haggberg, Cody Hunt, Nick Pederson and Lucas Gross out on the course. Unfortunately, Hunt was hit in the foot by an opponent’s drive early in the round and was forced to leave the competition to get medical care. “We were looking forward to having a complete team, and then this had to happen,” Raiders coach Travis Turgeon said.

Haggberg’s round of 95 was sixth best among the 38 boys golfers competing.
